Pricing, promotions and payments

Dema's Pricing, Promotions, and Payments Policy serves as an exhaustive guide for customers and third-party sellers interacting on the platform. It addresses the fluidity of item pricing, outlines various promotional opportunities like coupons and bulk discounts, and clarifies tax responsibilities. The policy details accepted payment methods, focusing on the use of the Dema wallet, and offers guidelines for secure transactions to prevent payment scams.

Shopping Cart Prices:

All items in your Dema Shopping Cart reflect the most current price as set by the seller. Note that prices can change between the time of adding an item to the cart and the final purchase.

  1. If an item is mispriced and costs more than stated, we will cancel the order and notify you
  2. If an item’s price has been reduced and favorable to you, we will send the difference as refund to your wallet
  3. Prices are set by third-party sellers; Dema doesn't sell first-party products

Final Checkout prices:

The final price paid at the checkout is inclusive of all the applicable coupons and discounts as well as the applicable taxes according to the local jurisdictions. When you return an item / cancel an item, we will refund the entire final checkout price, including taxes. In rare cases during return, sellers might charge a return shipping fee.

Coupons:

Coupons available for items in your Dema Shopping Cart are automatically applied and are reflected in the final cart and checkout area. Coupons reduce the overall price that you pay on the items. Note that availability of coupons can change between the time of adding an item to the cart and the final purchase.

  1. Coupons are valid for a limited time and may not be combinable with other offers.
  2. Coupons apply only to items displaying the coupon offer and are limited to one per customer.
  3. If items purchased with a coupon are returned, the coupon value will be subtracted from the return credit.
  4. If a coupon has expired between, adding the item to cart and checkout, Dema will cancel the order and refund your wallet.

Redeem Promotional Codes:

Promotional codes if any provided by the sellers must be redeemed at the time of purchase during checkout. Promotional codes cannot be applied to gift cards, taxes, or additional shipping costs. Instructions for redeeming promotional codes will be clearly stated during the checkout process.

Claim Free Product Offers:

Free product promotions can be claimed by adding both the free product and the qualifying items to your shopping cart and applying the appropriate claim code. This is very similar to a promo code. While most of the times, free product claims are offered along with an accompanying purchase, there are limited cases, where sellers would offer free purchases without any additional purchases as well.

Multiple Item Or Bulk Buy Discounts:

Discounts for purchasing multiple items or bulk purchase of the same item will be clearly stated and are valid for a limited time. If any promotion items are returned, your discount will be subtracted from your return credit.

Terms and Conditions for all promotions:

  1. Dema and sellers reserve the right to modify or cancel promotions at any time.
  2. Each promotional code applies only to qualifying items.
  3. If a promotion requires a minimum purchase, this does not include taxes, shipping, or handling.
  4. Promotions may not be combined with other offers.
  5. All promotions are subject to availability and can even change within the time that you have added an item to cart and checkout.
  6. If a promotional item is returned, the value may be subtracted from the return credit.

Tax Policy:

Dema is a marketplace that exclusively allows third-party sellers to offer their products and services. We provide a platform for these sellers and assist them in calculating taxes on sales. The collection and remittance of sales tax may vary depending on the seller's policies and operational requirements.

  1. Marketplace Facilitator Legislation: Dema calculates, collects, and remits tax on behalf of sellers for orders shipped to customers in states that have enacted Marketplace Facilitator, Marketplace Fairness, or similar laws. These laws shift the tax collection responsibility from the third-party sellers to the marketplace platform (Marketplace legislation is in effect in 46 states and DC).
  • Note: For more information on states where Marketplace Facilitator Legislation is in effect, please visit our 'Marketplace Tax Collection' section.
  1. Seller's Responsibility: Sellers on Dema have the responsibility to calculate and collect sales taxes based on their own policies, the nature of the goods sold, and the shipping location. Consequently, some items in your order may be subject to tax, while others may not be.

Payment Methods

All payments must be made through your Dema wallet. If your wallet has insufficient funds, you will be prompted to top it up using available payment methods. Currently we have two payment methods to top up your wallet.

  1. Coinbase pay: You can top up your wallet using coinbase pay, by login into your coinbase account in the Dema app and transfer USDC directly to Dema wallet with any of the payment methods that you have enabled on Coinbase. Dema will only receive the USDC transfer and we typically confirm this by checking your wallet balance every 6 seconds and if we have not received enough balance to finish your checkout, we will prompt you to load your wallet again.
  2. External wallet: You can send USDC to your Dema wallet from any of your external wallets such as Metamask, Argent or even any exchange accounts. Make sure to transfer USDC only and on Polygon / Matic Network only. We will provide you within an ENS for your Dema wallet, so that it’s easier to transfer funds (Easy to remember wallet address)
